Problem connecting LinkedIn - "Request Error"

LinkedIn can sometimes return a "Request Error" when authenticating your account. Here's how to resolve the issue.

From time to time, when adding LinkedIn to one of your Missinglettr accounts, you may come across a rather annoying error on the LinkedIn site that goes like this:

"We’re sorry, there was a problem with your request. Please make sure you have cookies enabled and try again."

This is usually as a result of your browsers cookies getting into a mess (naughty cookies!). To work around this issue, you will need to do one of the following things:

  • Clear your browsers cache and temporary files
  • Try again using incognito / private mode
  • Try using an alternative browser

Ideally, clearing your cache is preferred as this should resolve the issue in case you need to re-authenticate LinkedIn again. Items 2 and 3 are quicker and probably a little easier :)
