Problem connecting to LinkedIn

LinkedIn can sometimes return a "Request Error" or "Login Failure" when authenticating your account. Here's how to resolve the issue.

From time to time, when adding LinkedIn to one of your Missinglettr accounts, you may come across a rather annoying error on the LinkedIn site that often (but not always) goes like this:

"We’re sorry, there was a problem with your request. Please make sure you have cookies enabled and try again."

This is usually as a result of your browser's cookies getting into a mess (naughty cookies!). To work around this issue, you will need to do one of the following things:

  • Clear your browsers cache and temporary files
  • Try again using incognito/private mode
  • Try using an alternative browser

Ideally, clearing your cache is preferred as this should resolve the issue in case you need to re-authenticate LinkedIn again. Items 2 and 3 are quicker and probably a little easier.
